Hi, and welcome to the Good Ways Inc. campaign planning process. We use this process with all our clients to plan straightforward fundraising campaigns that feel authentic and use your strengths and existing tools to get the job done.
We’ve seen this process work hundreds of times.
We’ve seen organizations use this to triple dollars raised.
We’ve seen leaders use this to get more reliable results.
We are excited for you to try!
There are three stages to this process (and you can get them all done in 7-10 days):
Step one: Strategic thinking
We’re going to ask you many questions about your donors, your organization, and your lists. You’re the expert, so we want you to dig deep and find those insights that genuinely make a difference when it comes to fundraising.
At some point, you’re going to think it feels long. We think of it like this quote from Abraham Lincoln, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.” This first part helps you go faster, stronger, and get better results in the end.
How you’ll get there: on the next few pages, we have three workbooks for you (there is a link at the bottom of this page). Jump in and start filling them out. It should take you about 2-3 hours to get through them, and you can even ask us questions while you do. We’re here for you.
You’ll log in using your email address and you can download a pdf copy of your work too. We’ll automatically get a copy of your workbook once you hit submit.
Step two: A big idea
From all of this work, we’re going to develop the big idea behind your fundraising. Maybe you think, “I don’t need a big idea. I just need people to give more.” Correct! You do – and having this big idea activates your donors to be generous, it inspires your board to pitch in, and it makes all your fundraising letters, emails, and social media posts work better.
How you’ll get there: There is a little bit of work to do in a workbook and a link to schedule a one-hour consulting meeting. Together, we’ll review your strategy work and help you refine this big idea.
Step three: A campaign roadmap
Here’s where all that ax sharpening pays off. The last step is coming up with your custom plan that uses your existing tools and resources. We’ll work on this with you after step #2.
How you’ll get there: There are three more workbooks for you to work through (it takes about 90 minutes) and then another meeting to go over everything. We’ll try to give you as many resources as possible to help make your year-end fundraising a success.
